McClarrons joined other supporters of equine charity, New Beginnings, as they held their 1st annual fundraiser, Life Past the Post, on Saturday 27 February.
In the fitting surroundings of York Racecourse, the event, which was sponsored by feed company Spillers, was organised to raise awareness and funds for a charity which is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for former racehorses.
Originally founded in February 2010 by Kevin Atkinson and Pam Hollingworth, New Beginnings was recognised as a registered charity and we have been keen to support them at McClarrons, as Max Johnson, Equine Account Executive explains:
“As a businesses with a strong rural and equine heritage, it is a privilege to be able to support a charity like New Beginnings. It was great to see so many people from the local community supporting the cause, as well as having a good time – I hope it is the first of many successful fundraisers to come.”
New Beginnings works hard to secure stability for the former racehorses in their care through fundraising and donations, and their debut event pulling out all the stops with a 3 course meal accompanied by live music, magic and a charity auction.
McClarrons have specialised in the Equine Industry for 20 years and every member of their equine team have direct ties to the industry in their personal lives. Our attendance at New Beginnings follows our incentive to support local charities whose purpose closely aligns with our interests as a rural broker in an area of North Yorkshire steeped in racing.
