McClarrons celebrate with IAgSA at Annual Conference

This year, the Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators (IAgSA) held their Annual Conference at Walton Hall Hotel in Warwickshire. The conference offers members the chance to attend various workshops, talk to rural businesses, meet like-minded people and look to the future of the industry.

The conference took place over the weekend 3rd-5th March and included workshops and presentations for members to attend, with Steven Swift, McClarrons’ Development Manager, speaking about recent insurance industry changes such as changes to the Personal Injury Discount Rate and the implementation of Flood Re, as well as discussing the emerging risk of Cyber Crime and its relevance to the farming community.

Steven commented: “We are doing increasing work surrounding developing risks such as Cyber and Crime in order to help people and businesses protect themselves against it. It is a growing threat and one that is not going away; it is paramount that we share knowledge on the topic so that preventative measures can be put in place. This is as relevant for IAgSA as it is for any other business.”

At the Annual Gala Dinner, the 50 years of IAgSA were celebrated with a chairman from each of the past 3 decades reminiscing about industry changes and how IAgSA has grown to encompass these.  They also gave us an insight into highlights and “low” lights of their terms of office and the friendship and support within the Institute.

Steven continued: “It’s our 4th year supporting IAgSA – an association we are honoured to be involved with. We have worked closely with Council to ensure that their Professional Indemnity cover is tailored to the unique requirements of farm secretaries and administrators, and continue to advise through workshops at the annual conference. We are particularly proud to have been able to celebrate this important anniversary with them.”

Sally Lemonius, Vice Chairman at IAgSA, said: “Once again Steven Swift’s workshops were very popular. As one of the main sponsors, we would like to thank McClarrons for their support of the Institute and the advice they give to our members and clients throughout the year.”
