
About Twisted Automotive
Born from the passion of one man for this iconic British vehicle, Twisted was established in 2001. However the love affair with the Defender started much earlier. As a child, our founder Charles Fawcett was surrounded by Landrover vehicles. His father had been involved in the sale and repair of this rugged vehicle since the 1970’s and ran a 4×4 off-road driving centre. As early as 11 years old, Charles had his own Series 3 pick up, one that didn’t always run.
Charles joined the family business in 1995 and in 2000 set up Twisted as a side operation, offering tuning and performance enhancements for the then range of Land Rover 200/300tdi Defender, Discovery and Range Rover. By 2008 the demand for expert advice and quality modification had grown and Twisted became a full time operation. From 2009 the team focussed solely on the Defender and the rest, as they say is history.

A genuine Twisted is supplied and modified by Twisted from new to a specification that has all the key comfort, performance, and handling elements. It is not a vehicle dripping in bolt on accessories, nor a vehicle that necessarily looks very different from its roots. It’s a vehicle that reflects passionately on its heritage and looks excitedly at its longevity and future.
Each Twisted Series celebrates each of the original series with subtle nods to their predecessors, with modern Twisted upgrades and interpretations.

Series IIA
Modern interpretation of the 1961 Series IIA, with a number of subtle design alterations over the outgoing Series II.
Lightweight Originally developed for the British Army, between 1968-1984 and was known as the ‘Half Ton Lightweight’.
Series III The most common series vehicle still on the roads, the 14-year production of the Series III began in 1971 and ceased in 1985.
Stage One V8 The Stage One V8 is the final chapter in Twisted’s Remake History celebration.
