William Hill<\/a> have recently announced that they will be closing 700 of their stores, attributing this to the stake reduction on FOBTs (Fixed Odds Betting Terminals) from \u00a3100 to just \u00a32.<\/p>\n

The knock-on effect on the betting industry, and in particular on racing, could mean less money into the industry overall. This would have repercussions across the horse racing world, with prize money seriously impacted. With less prize money available, there is a danger that we will see less horses in training and therefore, competing. Inevitably, this would lead to less money being brought into the industry and so on and so forth.<\/p>\n
