Motor Claim Instructions

Here are some notes for what you should do if you are unfortunate enough to have an accident!

Contact Police if necessary

  1. Obtain information about other people involved in the accident or anyone who may have witnessed the accident.
  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Insurer
  • Policy Number
  • Etc.
  1. Take photos of the vehicles involved and accident scene.
  2. Have the vehicle recovered to a repair facility if it is un drivable5. If the vehicle is drivable:
  • Obtain an estimate from a repairer. Or an approved repairer can be instructed by insurers.
  1. The motor engineer will review the estimate and may send an appraiser to inspect the vehicle
  2. The loss adjuster will deal directly with the claimant yourself. Please refer all inquiries to Schofield Insurance Brokers.
  3. Expect to be contacted by the loss adjuster within 3-5 working days. Please call Schofield Insurance Brokers if you have not been contacted within that timeframe.
  • If the damage significantly affects your continuing operations, we will request that the insurer expedite your claim.
  • Please let us know immediately if your circumstances change and this loss will have a greater impact on your business than originally anticipated.
